Adam Levine Apologises to America

Maroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine, was pressured to announce an apology to his country after a comment he made in his judge seat during a live segment on the hit show The Voice US.

After two contestants were eliminated from his team on The Voice the other night, Adam Levine muttered “I hate this country” in utter frustration. Many US viewers were offended by the unpatriotic remark and complained to the network.

After the show aired, Levine turned to Twitter to reassure the public the light-hearted intentions behind the comment by tweeting definitions of ‘joke’, ‘misunderstood’ and other similar words. Despite his online efforts, the continous uproar left Levine no choice but to publically apologise and clarify the tone behind the comment.

“I obviously love my country very much and my comments last night were made purely out of frustration,” Levine confesses to popular daily magazine US Weekly. “Being a part of The Voice, I am passionately invested in my team and want to see my artists succeed. Last night’s elimination of Judith and Sarah was confusing and downright emotional for me and my comments were made based on my personal dissatisfaction with the results.”

Moral of the story: Never challenge an American crowd’s patriotism…especially on live television.

What do you guys think? Was America too hard on Adam Levine or did he bring this on himself? Let us know below!
