Steve Aoki announce on Tuesday that the first volume of his upcoming double album Neon Future I on Dim Mak/Ultra Music will be coming to us this winter on August 12, featuring collaborations with Fall Out Boy, Empire of the Sun, will.i.am, Flux Pavilion, and of course Waka Flocka Flame. We can expect the follow-up LP, Neon Future II, in early 2015.
Meanwhile The DJ will throw a raucous album release party at famed New York City venue Madison Square Garden on August 16, following in the footsteps of Armin van Buuren, Swedish House Mafia and Above & Beyond.
NYC’s dance music fans will be sad to hear the Electric Zoo Festival has been cut short this year after the death of two attendees.
The last day of the three day dance festival has been cancelled following the two drug-related deaths. The official website for E-Zoo was taken down, replaced with a message sending their condolences to the families. Sunday’s lineup included Armin Van Buuren, Sebastian Ingrosso, Laidback Luke and Steve Aoki. The popular festival attracted 100,000 people in its 2012 edition.

His second album ‘Neon Future,’ has no set release date yet, but many details about what to expect have already dropped. Aoki states that he has improved on his writing skills, producing abilities and that the album is much more emotional for him. he also gives us an idea on what kind of music he is leaning his album toward, ‘It’s multi-genre: there are a couple of trap songs, some dubstep records. Mainly just four-to-the floor dance stuff.”
With already confirmed collab’s with stars like Rita Ora & Flux Pavillion, ‘Neon Future’ has some high expectation to live up too. I’m sure Steve will not disappoint!
