Will.i.am has found himself in controversy, once again, with his new release ‘let’s go’. The song, expected to be chart-topping, features Chris Brown and is particularly reminiscent of Arty & Matt Zo’s 2011 track Rebound. Interestingly enough, his previous run-ins with Calvin Harris, Boys Noize & Adam Freeland didn’t teach him anything, because he hadn’t gotten clearance from Arty’s label ‘Anjunabeats.’
Here is what Will.i.am said about the issue to KISS-FM:
“Arty is a dope producer so I wrote this song to Rebound this last year. I got in touch with Arty and showed it to him, did a different version to it because I asked him [to] make it newer because I don’t just want to take your song and rap over it.
After a year went by, though, we preferred writing over and using the [original] Rebound. Something happened and the clearance…hopefully, we resolved the issue.”
Good one, Will.i.am
