Rising Star Alesso

It’s happening, Alesso is outdoing himself.  Billboard reports to us that Def Jam / EMI UK has signed the 23 year old Swedish DJ-producer for a recording contract.  Earlier in the year Alesso’s Grammy- nominated remix of One Republic’s If I Lose Myself really placed him on the grid, but that isn’t the only collaboration that earned him recognition.  In the lead up, he has played with Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris and Hurts along with a number of other high profile producers.  To top it off, his remix of Nadia Ali, Starkillers and Alex Kenji’s Pressure frequented our stereos as one of EDM’s most played songs in 2011.  The progressive house virtuoso recently stated he ‘wanted to make a massive song that would literally make people want to tear off the roof’.  So in conjunction with this, here debuts Tear The Roof Up!

Usher wants to let you know he’s a ‘Good Kisser’!

Usher knows a thing or two about what makes a good kisser. In fact, he sings about just that in his latest music video for the single by the same name, which was released Monday on VevoGood Kisser is the first single off his still-untitled eighth studio album, due out by the end of the year.

“I done been around the world / I done kissed a lotta of girls,” Usher sings at the top. He then spends the rest of the track praising one particular set of lips (“You do it so good, you fuck my mind”), setting the scene with lots of specific imagery (“Five in the morning,’ kush is rollin’ while she’s makin’ steak and eggs / Five in the mornin’, we can only be about to do one thing”) as jazzy keyboards and handclaps roll into the chorus. The song, off the R&B singer’s untitled upcoming album, pushes the bar of sexuality as he sings naughty and sexyes lyrics…

The track, currently available to purchase on iTunes, was produced by Pop, Flip, JProof, Terry “Tru” Sneed, Natural and Oak.

The old-school feel of “Good Kisser” is fitting: Last week, Usher honored the late Michael Jackson  at this year’s iHeartRadio Music Awards by dancing to the singer’s new posthumous single, “Love Never Felt So Good.” (By the way, news about Michael Jackson’s posthumous new album here)
