Facebook excited the world last week when EDM supergroup Moderat posted ‘MODERAT II = DONE’. It has now been officially announced that producers Apparat & Modeselektor have joined forces, after four years, to pump out an 11-track album. The producers have already planned some shows at locations Kazantip, Eastern Electrics, Sonne Mond Sterne & more to accompany their August 2013 release.
The EDM stars said “After spending six quite intense months in the studio we just finished our second album,” Moderat writes. “It’s simply called Moderat II and we aged about 10 years while making it but we think it was worth the trouble. Not seeing any sunshine or daylight for a long time, we can‘t wait to go on tour in August and play the new stuff live.”
The dance world are excited about this one, no doubt.
Canadian artists Excision and Downlink combine with Pendulum’s KJ Sawka to form the drop-heavy dubstep group Destroid. They are due to release their debut album, strategically named ‘The Invasion,’ that will drop on May 7. The threesome have confirmed collaborations with EDM big-shots Bassnectar & Far Too Loud, placing this 10-track debut album as one of the most anticipated.
In support of The Invasion (and theirs), Destroid will be embarking on a full-band US tour in order to showcase their music. Their work is claimed to be “the heaviest of the heavy” we’ve ever seen in bass music.
Fans will be stoked to know that Excision will be taking part in a ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on the release day of The Invasion, so if you are a fan, it is not to be missed!
Kindergarten Records are set to drop a new hit produced by the rising star, DallasK. Five minute track Alienz, which backs up his previous work ‘Vice,’ consists of tight synths, warm melody work & a punchy drumbeat, proving that Dallask is shaping up as one of the best in the business.

In a interview with Daily Star, Norman Cook – who we know as Fatboy Slim, has praised Daft Punk‘s latest work. He dubs them as ‘the last great dance music supergroup you’ll ever hear,’ and claims that all EDM artists, himself included, have, and will receive ‘a kick up the ass,’ from their 4th studio album.
He describes their work as “a breath of fresh old-school air,” and it is reported that he is putting the next Fatboy Slim album on hold to work with Random Access Memories collaborators.
