Facebook Gives Us The Real Deal With Musicians

Ever lurked followed your favourite musician or celeb on Facebook only to realise, in utter dismay and embarrassment, that you’re following a wannabe imposter?

Yes? No? Well have no fear! Facebook has followed Twitter by providing us fans (and stalkers) with a verification ‘tick’ symbol, to assure us that we’re following a legitimate account instead of an online troll.

And it’s not just our favourite musicians and celebs! According to the Facebook blog, the verified pages “belong to a small group of prominent public figures (celebrities, journalists, government officials, popular brands and businesses) with large audiences. This update is rolling out to profiles as well.”

So now you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the you’re ‘poking’ and interacting with the real deal…as long as the account has the blue tick, that is.
