Come Together Festival has cancelled its 2014 event set place to take place on June 7 at Luna Park in Sydney, due to poor ticket sales.
This year’s hip-hop festival’s lineup was set to Kerser, Funkoars, Jackie Onassis, Remi, Diafrix, Citizen Kay, Briggs, Mr Hill & Rahjconkas, Miracle, and Mind Over Matter. Since announcing the lineup on April 22 organisers had already tried to buoy sales by offering a “buy three get one free” deal as well as free rides at Luna Park.
The festival celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2012 with a lineup that included Drapht, Illy and The Herd.
Promoters have issued a statement on their website: “We regret to announce that due to ticket sales not reaching their targets we have decided to cancel this year’s Come Together on June 7.
The event remains as one of Sydney’s only all ages concert experiences and for the last 10 years has provided many developing acts the opportunity to play the big stage and help build their fan base. Please contact you place of purchase for a full refund”.
Isn’t this sad? Although Promoters have vowed the festival will return in 2015.
