Exciting New Australian Dance

In the 12 months since we last checked in with Mitzi, the Brisbane four-piece has been up to good things. “This past year we built a small studio up here in Brisbane and have been working away,” the guys tell us on email. “We hauled all of our gear together from our bedroom studios, a bunch of old synths and outboard gear and recorded our début LP.” If the shimmery first single Who Will Love You Now is anything to go by, there’s a damn fine disco album on its way.  To read the full article click here19331_1609345

Brand new for Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen of Pendulum side project Knife party, is set to make waves with their new material. Heading in  the direction of a more

“The Knife Party thing is going so well we don’t really feel like going back to junior school any time soon,” one half of the duo Rob Swire told triple j earlier this year, announcing that Pendulum was taking a time out. “I guess we’d been doing Pendulum for ten years and that’s a pretty long time to be doing anything I guess. We were still playing tracks like Blood Sugar that we made when we were 18 or 19. To still be doing that 10 years later, it just felt like time to do something else.”

“Musically the project just comes from different influences. I’ve just been really gripped by two things recently; house music and dubstep. We were just throwing ideas around and using that as a vehicle for stuff that was completely irrelevant to Pendulum. These ideas went from screamo metal tracks to moombahton and dubstep and house.”
