Thomas Von Party returning to Australia!

In March 2013, Thomas Von Party will be bringing the sounds of Turbo Recordings to our clubs. Over two weekends, TVP will tick off five sessions, from a daytime Hyperdance boat party on Sydney Harbour (along with The Finger Prince) to the intimate surrounds of Elsewhere on the Gold Coast. The man will be arriving in Australia “extra loose from all the trance dancing in Goa”. At the tail-end of 2012, TVP name-checked the Cómeme label as his favourite of the year (aside from his home-base, of course), and you can hear their vibe represented in the set posted below.

In 2006, the DJ joined his brother Tiga at the Turbo offices, coming on as head of A&R. His talent for tastemaking has helped bring the likes of Azari & IIIGesaffelsteinPopofBrodinskiSei A and Proxy into the label family, while also cultivating his production career. He also helped guide Twin Turbo, the ‘all-digital, all-banger venture’ from Tiga and co. Turbo had a standout year in 2012, with wide-ranging releases from Zombie NationDuke DumontNautilussLocked GrooveClouds and ZZT, the meeting of minds between Tiga and Zombie Nation. Turbo also released the New Jack Technocompilation midway through the year, confounding anyone who had the imprint still pinned to one sound.

March 2 – Hyperdance Boat Party @ Sydney Harbour, Sydney (Daytime show)
March 2 – Survivor @ The Bottom End, Melbourne
