Dance names around the world are marking their big moments with free downloads this year. Bag Raiders hit 100,000 Facebook fans and to mark the occasion, they’re giving away a very special piece of Australian dance music history.
“A massive thank-you to each and every one of you fine creatures who have helped us reach 100k! We wouldn’t be doing what we are doing without you guys, so a million thanks to all of you. It’s going to be a big year of new music from us and this feels like the beginning of something special. So to commemorate it, we would like to share with you something special from where it all began for us. Before our first tracks, our first remixes, anything, there was this; our first ever DJ mix. With our good friend Gus, now known as Dreems, this mix was conceived, created and pressed to about 150 CDs with “Bag Raiderzzzzzzz” on it. So for anyone who still doesn’t know, this is where the name comes from. So click the link, sit back, relax and let the memories roll by!!! Listen and download here: http://bit.ly/bagraiders100k” they posted on Facebook.
The Australian dance-pop duo founded in 2006 by mainstays Jack Glass and Chris Stracey. In October 2010 they issued their debut self-titled studio album, which peaked at No. 7 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The duo also creates remixes of other artists’ work. Bag Raiders have appeared at multiple festivals, including Stereosonic in 2011 nationally.
In 2009 Bag Raiders were rated at No. 11 on the inthemix website’s poll of Australia’s top 50 DJs. Their track, “Shooting Stars” was listed at No. 18 in radio station Triple J’s Hottest 100 of 2009. In the next year’s list, “Way Back Home”, reached No. 46.
Sorry ladies, unfortunately it won’t be with Flume himself.
The young music producer announced to his Facebook fans that he is searching for a “cute” couple that are willing to get into a makeout sesh which will be featured in his latest video to accompany his Disclosure remix live show.
So all you cute couples out there (sorry to the other non-cute ones–the flume wants what the flume wants), check out Flume’s facebook profile for more information.

Ever lurked followed your favourite musician or celeb on Facebook only to realise, in utter dismay and embarrassment, that you’re following a wannabe imposter?
Yes? No? Well have no fear! Facebook has followed Twitter by providing us fans (and stalkers) with a verification ‘tick’ symbol, to assure us that we’re following a legitimate account instead of an online troll.
And it’s not just our favourite musicians and celebs! According to the Facebook blog, the verified pages “belong to a small group of prominent public figures (celebrities, journalists, government officials, popular brands and businesses) with large audiences. This update is rolling out to profiles as well.”
So now you can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the you’re ‘poking’ and interacting with the real deal…as long as the account has the blue tick, that is.
