Walt Disney Records is topping charts with their EDM album Dconstructed.
As part of Disney Music Groups goal to move beyond their animated phenomenon, they released Dconstructed, an EDM album of classic and contemporary Disney songs remixed by a swagger of EDM giants such as Daft Punk and Armin van Buuren.
What a perfect combination, the classic Disney tunes you grew up with, mixed with crazy beats and epic vibes by some of our favourite DJs!
The success of Dconstructed is highly due to the release of Frozen. The soundtrack is nearing it’s 13th week at number one on Billboard 200, selling 2.1 million copies, so far.
This is the first EDM collection from the Disney group, and I can’t wait for more!
All the mixes come with their own trippy video to match, which were released as a celebration of Disney’s achievement in breaking into the EDM category.
The album listing goes as follows:

NYC’s dance music fans will be sad to hear the Electric Zoo Festival has been cut short this year after the death of two attendees.
The last day of the three day dance festival has been cancelled following the two drug-related deaths. The official website for E-Zoo was taken down, replaced with a message sending their condolences to the families. Sunday’s lineup included Armin Van Buuren, Sebastian Ingrosso, Laidback Luke and Steve Aoki. The popular festival attracted 100,000 people in its 2012 edition.
While the Splendour festival is getting all the festies excited down under, Tomorrowland is getting the festies excited up north, after announcing it’s theme earlier this week called “The Arising of Life”.
Now don’t fret, the theme isn’t as philosophical as you think…well maybe a tad, think of it more as a subjective theme. Anyway, as seen in the picture above, the festival has gone for a more fantasy-based theme with the deep yet popular proverb tagline: “Yesterday is History. Today is a Gift. Tomorrow is a Mystery.” If the theme set will be similar to that of last year’s gig, this one will be even more epic along with the headliners including Avicii, Armin van Buuren and David Guetta! Consider yourselves lucky ticketholders!
The festival has also promoted the theme through a tv commercial which you can view here.
So whether you’re swaying away at Splendour or moshing it up at Tomorrowland, one thing is certain. The world will be one big festival party in the last week of July! Bring. It. On.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the full lineup for Stereosonic (SS) 2013 has finally been released and it is one of epic proportions!
The headliners this year include the legendary Calvin Harris, David Guetta and Armin Van Buuren. If that trio wasn’t good enough, the rest of the lineup also includes many A-list EDM artists including Empire of the Sun, Above and Beyond, Axwell. Afrojack and Alesso. Other favourite EDM artists that have perfomed at previous SS shows including Zedd, Sebastian Ingrosso are also making a comeback for this year’s big show.
If that hasn’t made you squeal in excitement like a Justin Bieber fangirl, check out the full line-up below in courtesy of inthemix.com.au:

Armin van Buuren finished off his hectic international tour with a show in his home country, The Netherlands. Not only did Armin perform to his usual standard of excellence for his home town, but the locals we’re also treated to the world premiere of his latest work – ‘Who’s Afraid Of 138?!’ This track is the second installment off his highly anticipated album ‘Intense,’ and sure enough, it did not disappoint his strong band of loyal trance followers. From what we have seen, Armin’s album will be keeping him sitting comfortably at the top of EDM world.
Armin Van Buuren brought his set, along with his loyal line of trance followers, into Madison Square Garden last Saturday night…and consequently made history.
Supports W&W and New World Punx, who performed for the first time & immediately became a new Superpower in the trance music scene, definitely got the neon tainted legion of fans pumped up as they eagerly awaited the star to appear.
Armin flushed skeptics who believe he ‘always plays the same set’ aside, as he pulled out a unique and new mix of tracks.. despite only playing a week earlier at Ultra Music. With this outstanding show, Buuren become the first solo artist to play at MSG.
All in all, the team of trance music artists made history, blew Speakers & kept party-loving fans dancing until one in the morning. It is safe to say the packed out stadium of followers we’re the furthest from disappointed that night.
