Avicii cancels Perth and Brisbane Future 2013 Shows

Going directly to the hospital for stomach related issues after landing in Brisbane, Avicii has had to regrettably cancel his headlining shows at both the Brisbane and Perth Future Music 2013  Festivals.

“It is with deep regret that we inform you of the decision to cancel Avicii’s performances at Future Music Festival in Brisbane and Perth,” FMF stated. “Avicii went directly to the hospital upon landing in Brisbane for stomach related issues. He has been hospitalised since then. Over the past couple of days we have been monitoring his condition and we have all been optimistic about him being healthy enough to perform. Unfortunately the doctors are not willing to discharge him at this time which means he will sadly be unable to appear tonight or at tomorrow’s festival.”

Future has advised that the headliner “looks forward to playing the remaining shows next weekend” and will be replaced by Hardwell for the time being, who will play extended sets for the Perth and Brisbane shows.

Future Music will be on this weekend in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide with appearances by The ProdigyBoys Noize , Zeds DeadBorgoreKill the NoiseCosmic GateSven VathRichie Hawtin,  MadeonRudimental and so much more.

Flosstradamus’ Australian tour kicks off

More Australian touring is on the way, and it begins with a great new start with this duo.  This Friday, Flosstradamus kick off their first Australian tour in years. When they first headed out our way in 2008, the Chicago-bred pair were sharing the V Festival bill with titans like The Smashing Pumpkins, Duran Duran and Queens of the Stone Age. Back then, thanks to inthemix, they have noted “they’ve been known for throwing everything into the mix; from hip hop to indie to techno to electro.” Now, there’s a much easier genre tag for what duo Josh Young and Curt Cameruci make: trap. Flosstradamus have risen up as one of the biggest names in the new it-genre, so this time, the tour’s all about them.

Kicking off at Can’t Say in Melbourne on Friday, from there it’s onto Perth, Byron Bay, Adelaide and Brisbane, before winding up with a big one at Chinese Laundry in Sydney. The tour comes off the back of their X EP, which the pair released for free download last year. But since then, they’ve been hard at work with guys from both the Fool’s Gold and Mad Decent camps: hooking up with A-Trak to remix his track Piss Test, putting their spin on Major Lazer’s Original Don and teaming up with Diploto rework he and Usher’s superhit Climax. Tickets to all shows are available through the venue, or through Moshtix for the Brisbane and Byron dates.

Flosstradamus Australian tour dates

Fri 15th February – Can’t Say, Melbourne
Sat 16th February – Shape Bar, Perth
Sun 17th February – Sunday Safari, Byron Bay
Thurs 21st February – The Projects, Adelaide
Fri 22nd February – Oh Hello!, Brisbane
Sat 23rd February – Chinese Laundry, Sydney
