Simon Smithers is the CEO of TrueBlu and possesses over 25 years of film, online media and TV production experience. He is passionate about the convergent worlds of IPTV, WebTV, free to air media networks, new media formats and content channels that are now proliferating the planet.
Simon began his career in the early 1980s working as an editor and sound editor. He has lectured at Charles Sturt, AFTRS and worked for a number of media corporations and institutions including: News Limited, Boston University, Amber Technology, Network 10, The ABC, TCN 9 and The Seven Network. Simon has worked on hundreds of different productions across all mediums, including animation, television, commercials, feature films, documentaries and short films. Through these projects, he has gained an immense amount of experience within the fields of Producing, Directing, Production Managing, Television, Web, Audio and Video Editing and Audio Engineering.
In 2010, Simon was appointed as the Senior Digital Producer/ Editor for Network 10 and the relationship still continues to this day. In addition to Simon’s ability to build bridges and networks, his talents coupled with his relationship management skills integrated with his vast production experience make him an ideal Chief Executive Officer for TrueBlu’s global media footprint.
Simon is highly proficient in a range of industry practices and digital workflows. His hands on creative ability includes the mastery of software including AVID, Media Composer, Film Master, Photoshop, AfterFX, Final Cut Pro, Protools and Digital Vision. Always on the cutting edge of technology and a visionary when it comes to trends within the convergent media technology markets, Simon is TrueBlu’s most valuable asset next to Chris Ross, the company co-founder and partner.
