DJ Central is very excited to announce the discovery of a lost archive of iconic and totally unique film foot of the 1999 and 2000 Mardi Gras Parades. The DJ Central editing teams will be working with the library to restore and digital enhance the sound track as well as create some truly unique video clips to be featured on the show. In 1999, Melbourne business man, Mr Peter Ambrosy agreed to finance and executive produce a documentary about the Sydney Mardi Gras and its ethos and culture. He arranged with Shooting Gallery, to send out several film crews to film both the 1999 and 2000 parades and to interview people there to watch or to participate. Hundreds of hours of digital footage capturing the iconic Sydney event which was for many years, Sydney’s biggest international tourist attraction. The documentary never got made and, as they say, a lot of water went under a lot of bridges, but the footage of the parades and the fun was archived and stored for over a decade. The now-owner of the archive, Colin Seeger, decided it was time to release this footage and a deal has been done with Blue Pie, which will digitise and package the hundreds of hours of footage. With the help of Colin Seeger and the Blue Pie Productions team, DJ Central has been able to secure the rights to edit and restore this footage to HD standards. We will update all via the news section of the site as the new video clips are complete and the segments are restored.
