Earl Sweatshirt. “Hive” [ft. Vince Staples and Casey Veggies]

With recent releases like “Whoa” and “Chum” trending a similar feel, Earl Sweatshirt’s self conscious lyrics drip over this eerie yet familiar track. Earl shares the vocals with Inglewood’s Casey Veggie and longtime Odd Future affiliate Vince Staples. The sonics seem to spawn from Odd Future, with a demonic bass droning under murky and dirty off beat drums, giving this track a definite Earl flavor. The vocals flow with a taste of Tyler, yet Earl seems to have developed on these themes, that continue to define him. He seems to be getting deeper into the definition, so to speak. This track is minimal and effective. Earl seems to have tapped into the essence of a sound just starting to mature.

No more trolling for Deadmau5 as he releases new productions.

As Deadmau5 is notoriously known for his serial trolling via soundcloud with his infamous comments on big room sounds at the moment, he has also been very busy releasing more of the tracks he is famous for.

In the last two days, he’s uploaded multiple bootlegs including “Turbo CartPig Racer” and “Somewhere Up Here (fin)” which are to set a new standard for other DJs in the music industry.

This came after his troll response on the Swedish duo Daleri ‘Epic Mashleg’ release on beatport which had 16 drops in 54 seconds, ‘mau5 released a track ‘Drop Da Bomb’ as a parody of this duos success which got unexpected success from the public.

“It’s easy to show up with that one hit, but the problem is not stagnating in a pile of your own fucking shit,” he commented to Vibemagazine at the start of the year.

“That’s something I’m always aware of when starting a new project. If you’re not being diverse, people will get bored. I like Avicii, he’s a real nice kid, but Avicii has got this Levels thing, and I almost feel bad for him. It’s probably not even his fault. He did the track, and it was all right – it was catchy – but I, dead-fucking-mau5, cannot name another Avicii track. I shit you not. I can’t.”

Avicii Debuts New Album #True

Avicii’s album party launch last night at New Yorks Swanky Hotel only played seven of the artisits hotly anticipated ‘True’ album – many of which had already been heard thanks to the artists Promo Mix which was released last month. If its first track (Wake me Up) was any indication of the albums success, hitting #1 45 minutes after its release –  the EDM industry should be very excited.

This invite-only event packed the third floor of this New York city bar, with crowds of music lovers, record labels and good lookers. The Swedish DJ began his seven track selection with his collaboration with Salen Al Fakir playing the song “All My Life (Someone Like You)” which pleased the enormous, devoted crowd. He followed with his usual uplifting melodies including “Hey Brother Hey Sister” and “Addicted to You” with vocals from singer Audra Mae which is a show stopper to say the least.

True will be released on September 17.
